The idea of “Doin Nothin” first developed during a trip I took this year to Key West, Florida. Ever since I discovered the area’s warm and relaxing atmosphere last year, I have made it a tradition of mine to go camping there each March. This year my best friend Bob, wanting in on my newfound lifestyle of relaxation, asked if he could come along. I wasn’t sure Bob would enjoy an entire week of simply, well, Doin Nothin, but he insisted on coming, so I let him.
The trip was fun from the beginning, from the laugh-filled ride down to the sunny days spent lounging in the sunshine. On one such day, Bob turned to me and said, “I could really get used to this Doin Nothin thing.” A little while later a woman passing our campsite asked us what we were doing. And of course, our reply was “We’re Doin Nothin!” She laughed and said that was something she could get into, too.
It then occurred to us that this kind of lifestyle could really catch on. I mean, this could be big! People everywhere kicking it back and relaxing…
We decided the concept belonged on a t-shirt, the apparel choice of relaxed people everywhere. With the creative help of a graphics designer named Chantal, and the addition of our equally laid-back friend Dan to the team, Doin Nothin was born.
Since then, Doin Nothin has branched out into the production of baseball hats, beach bags, lanyards, and more. But where is the future of our lovable line headed? Help us decide! We welcome your input, and would be happy to take your suggestions at sales@doinnothin.com.
